Tomato Basil Spaghetti

Nothing beats a heaping bowl of spaghetti! Complete with grape tomatoes, butter beans and fresh basil.

Tomato Basil Spaghetti

Serves 2


  • 12 ounces Jovial brown rice spaghetti

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 1 (398 mL) can butter beans

  • 1 small red onion, sliced

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 dry pints of grape tomatoes, halved

  • 1/4 cup basil, roughly chopped

  • Sea salt and cracked pepper, to taste

  • Chili flakes, to taste


  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Cook pasta according to package directions.

  • Heat olive oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat. Add red onion, season with salt and pepper; cook for 1 minute

  • Add tomatoes, garlic and chili flakes, cook for 4 minutes.

  • Add beans and broth, season with salt and pepper; cook for 7 minutes.

  • Drain pasta. Stir in pasta and basil; cook until the liquid has evaporated, about 1 minute.

  • Serve garnished with chili flakes.
