Strawberry Flax Smoothie Bowl

My favourite strawberry flax smoothie just got an upgrade with the addition of toasted buckwheat groats and hemp hearts.



Strawberry Flax Smoothie Bowl


Serves 1


ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (can)

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • 1 frozen banana

  • 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal

  • 1 tablespoon nut butter

  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds

  • 2 tablespoons marine collagen

  • Dash of cinnamon


toppings

  • Cacao nibs

  • Toasted buckwheat groats

  • Hemp hearts

  • Frozen strawberries


method

  1. Heat buckwheat groats in a dry pan over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Add smoothie ingredients to a high-speed blender; blend until smooth. The mixture should be thick, add more milk if necessary.

  3. Transfer smoothie to a bowl and top with cacao nibs, toasted buckwheat groats, hemp hearts and frozen strawberries.
