My favourite strawberry and flax smoothie just got an upgrade with the addition of toasted buckwheat groats and hemp hearts. Enjoy this deliciously sweet smoothie in bowl form topped with all the good stuff.
Strawberry & Flax Smoothie Bowl
3/4 cup coconut milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana
1/4 cup flaxseed meal
Dash of cinnamon
Toasted buckwheat groats
Heat buckwheat groats in a dry pan over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add smoothie ingredients to a high-speed blender; blend until smooth. The mixture should be thick, add more milk if necessary.
Transfer smoothie to a bowl and top with cacao nibs, toasted buckwheat groats, hemp hearts and frozen strawberries.
